We are seeking dependable and safety-conscious Box Truck & Van Drivers to join our Hayward, California team. The ideal candidates have professional driving experience, strong attention to detail, and a commitment to safe, secure, and on-time deliveries.

Position Summary

The Box Truck & Van Driver is responsible for transporting and delivering freight between airports, warehouses, distribution centers, and customer locations using company-assigned box trucks or vans.

Drivers may handle time-sensitive, temperature-sensitive, pharmaceutical, life sciences, and high-value shipments that require careful handling, accurate documentation, and adherence to established security and transportation procedures.

This hands-on driving position requires punctuality, flexibility, effective communication with dispatch, and compliance with applicable U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT), Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA), and other relevant safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely operate company-assigned box trucks or vans to transport shipments between designated pickup and delivery locations.
• Complete scheduled and on-demand deliveries while meeting strict deadlines and customer requirements.
• Pick up and deliver freight at airports, warehouses, distribution centers, and customer facilities.
• Handle pharmaceutical, life sciences, temperature-sensitive, fragile, and high-value shipments according to established handling procedures.
• Verify shipment details, package counts, labels, and delivery instructions before departure.
• Maintain accurate delivery records, proof of delivery (POD), chain-of-custody documentation, and other required paperwork.
• Coordinate with dispatch and operations teams regarding assignments, route changes, delays, and delivery status.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and promptly report maintenance issues or safety concerns.
• Secure cargo properly to prevent damage during transportation and loading or unloading.
• Follow applicable DOT and FMCSA regulations, traffic laws, company policies, and customer-specific security procedures.
• Maintain a clean, organized vehicle and professional conduct at pickup and delivery locations.
• Assist with loading and unloading shipments, including lifting packages weighing up to 100 lbs, when required.
• Maintain required driver logs, hours-of-service records, vehicle inspection documentation, and other compliance records, where applicable.
• Work flexible schedules, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays, based on operational needs.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Valid driver's license appropriate for the assigned vehicle and applicable California requirements.
• Minimum 3 years of professional driving experience ; box truck, van, freight, logistics, or commercial delivery experience preferred.
• Clean driving record and ability to pass required background checks and drug screening.
• Ability to safely operate the assigned vehicle and follow defensive driving practices.
• Ability to lift and move packages weighing up to 100 lbs.
• Strong time-management, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to use mobile applications for navigation, dispatch communication, delivery updates, and proof of delivery.
• Dependable attendance, punctuality, and the ability to work independently.
• Willingness to work flexible shifts based on delivery schedules and business requirements.
• Ability to follow shipment-handling instructions and maintain accurate records.
• Ability to meet applicable DOT and FMCSA requirements for the assigned vehicle and operation, including medical certification and drug and alcohol testing, where required.
• Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) and any required endorsements, if applicable to the assigned vehicle and operation.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience in airport cargo, freight forwarding, final-mile delivery, or third-party logistics (3PL).
• Experience handling pharmaceutical, medical, life sciences, or temperature-sensitive shipments.
• Familiarity with chain-of-custody procedures and time-critical freight transportation.
• TSA Security Threat Assessment (STA), Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC), or other relevant credentials, where applicable.
• Experience operating box trucks or cargo vans in commercial delivery environments.
• Familiarity with airport pickup and delivery procedures, cargo facilities, and commercial shipping documentation.

Compensation & Benefits

• Hourly pay: $21–$25 , depending on experience, qualifications, and assigned responsibilities.
