Staff Accountant

I am partnered with a rapidly-growing distributor of Mexican Vegetables, who are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented and experienced Staff Accountant to join their team. This position will play a key role in managing day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring financial accuracy, and providing timely financial reporting to support business decisions and company growth. Key Responsibilities Perform daily cash reconciliations and monitor cash flow activities. Prepare quarterly and annual financial reports and statements. Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis. Analyze operating costs and identify areas for improved efficiency. Maintain and reconcile grower accounts, including the calculation of advances and preparation of final settlements. Process banking transactions, including wire transfers. Manage petty cash accounts and related reconciliations. Support year-end closing processes. Coordinate with external CPA, auditors, tax advisors, and other financial service providers. Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations and reporting requirements. Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance accounting and financial operations. Prepare management reports and provide financial insights to support executive decision-making. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software applications. Experience in the Fresh Produce industry is strongly advantageous. Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
