Duties may involve insulating; machining; carpentry; repairing electrical or mechanical equipment; installing, aligning, and balancing new equipment; and repairing buildings, floors, or stairs.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesRepair or replace defective equipment parts using hand tools and power tools, and reassemble equipmentPerform routine preventive maintenance to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently, and the physical condition of buildings does not deteriorateDiagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them, checking blueprints, repair manuals, and parts catalogs, as necessaryInspect, operate, and test machinery and equipment in order to diagnose machine malfunctionsClean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machineryAdjust functional parts of devices and control instruments, using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, and straightedgesPaint and repair roofs, windows, doors, floors, woodwork, plaster, drywall, and other parts of building structuresMaintain and repair specialized equipment and machineryFollow life safety plan and comprehensive emergency management planAssist EVS Department in duties including: Patient area daily room cleaningPatient area discharge cleaningPatient area isolation cleaningDisinfection and chemical useLaundry processing (patient linens)Laundry processing (personals)Rover/ Public area cleaningOffice/ Ancillary cleaningHard floor careCarpet careALF weekly unit cleaning serviceRepair beds and furnishingsChange out facility bulbs when neededManage plumbing for facilityRelocate lifts as neededPressure clean facility areas as needed and instructedUtilize Building Engines to complete all work order requestsParticipate as a member of Life Safety and Disaster TeamCompetenciesDemonstrates the ability to maintain interior and exterior facility appearanceDemonstrates knowledge of Life Safety CodesDemonstrates efficient repair or replacement of defective equipment partsDemonstrates the ability to diagnose mechanical concerns and/or issuesPerforms pre-established preventative maintenance timely and accuratelyDemonstrates effective and efficient utilization of Building EnginesDemonstrates a proactive approach to checking and ordering of suppliesDemonstrates timely and accurate completion of requests via Building EnginesCultureThis is a high performance environment propelled by collaboration through our Teams of Excellence (T.O.E.) This role requires regular walking to various locations around the facility. This role also routinely comes into contact with patients who may have contagious illnesses. Team member is expected to adhere to facility's no-smoking policy.Physical DemandsWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and stooping all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 60 pounds.Position Type and Expected Hours of WorkThis is a position in a post-acute setting that is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
