Position Summary: The Assistant Store Manager is responsible for operations and continuous improvement at their assigned location(s). Principal Responsibilities: Sales – Maximize sales by managing storage and retail inventory and continuing to improve each employee's sales presentationat the store. This includes quality assurance of phone, Internet, and walk-in sales leads. Customer Service – Ensure each customer receives outstanding service by creating a friendly environment, including greeting and acknowledging every customer, maintaining high quality standards, and ensuring strong product knowledge from each employee. Maintenance – Maintaining the storage center in a “like new” condition through regular cleaning and repairs. Maintain professional and productive relationships with all maintenance contractors and vendors while effectively supervising their work. Accounts Receivable – Controlling the store’s receivables by implementing and enforcing the procedures set forth by the company respectfully and professionally. General – Any other responsibilities as assigned by Management. Position Requirements Qualifications: 2-3 years of customer service or sales experience Self-starter who is resourceful, creative, and capable of handling multiple projects at one time and meeting deadlines Strong relationship-building skills Reliable, flexible, and effectively able to manage competing priorities Above average attention to detail with the ability to work with very limited supervision Possess good judgment and common sense and be adept at making sound business decisions independently Stellar follow-up skills Team Player Superior communication skills; both verbal and written Versatile and willing to work in a dynamic, ever-changing work environment with enthusiasm Highly proficient in Microsoft Office products “Roll up your sleeves” attitude Essential Physical Requirements: Ability to process information through computer system and POS system Ability to communicate with employees, vendors and customers Ability to read, count and write to complete all documentation accurately Ability to freely access all areas of the store including selling floor, storage units, parking areas and wine cellar (if applicable) Ability to operate and use all equipment necessary to run the store Ability to move or handle merchandise throughout the store generally weighing 0-50 pounds Ability to work varied hours/days to oversee store operations Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those an employee must meet to perform the essential functions of this job successfully.
