Senior General Ledger Accountant

Senior General Ledger AccountantOur company is a leading AV integration and Data Center construction firm seeking an experienced Senior General Ledger Accountant to join our Finance team. This role owns the accuracy and integrity of the general ledger across multiple entities, supporting month-end close, financial reporting, and reconciliations in a fast-paced, project-based construction environment. The ideal candidate has strong technical accounting skills, thrives on process and detail, and is comfortable partnering with Project Accountants, Operations, and Finance leadership.ResponsibilitiesOwn the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close process for the general ledger across multiple entities, ensuring timely and accurate closeAssist in the preparation of the monthly/quarterly/annual forecastPrepare and post journal entries, including accruals, prepaids, depreciation, intercompany transactions, and other standard/non-standard entriesPerform balance sheet account reconciliations across all entities, researching and resolving discrepancies in a timely mannerReview and analyze trial balances, identifying and correcting misclassifications or unusual variancesPartner with the Project Accounting team to ensure job cost activity is properly reflected in the general ledger and reconciled to job cost reports and WIP schedulesMaintain and enforce the chart of accounts, ensuring consistency and proper mapping across entitiesSupport intercompany transactions and eliminationsAssist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and supporting schedulesSupport the Financial Controller with cash flow analysis, budget-to-actual variance reporting, and ad hoc financial analysisPrepare audit schedules and serve as a key point of contact for external auditors and tax preparersIdentify and implement process improvements to strengthen internal controls, close efficiency, and reporting accuracyMentor and provide guidance to junior accounting staff and Project Accountants on GL-related mattersEnsure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies across all entitiesQualificationBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field5+ years of progressive general ledger/accounting experience, including multi-entity environmentsStrong knowledge of GAAP and month-end close processesExperience with account reconciliations, journal entries, and financial statement preparationAdvanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, financial modeling)Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skillsHigh attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlinesAbility to work in-person, full-time, at the Rockville, MD officePreferred:CPA or CPA candidate strongly preferredExperience in construction, AV integration, low-voltage, or data center industriesExperience with job costing and percentage-of-completion accountingExperience with construction/ERP software (e.g., Sage 300 CRE, Procore, Viewpoint, Foundation, or similar)Public accounting background (audit or advisory)NTI is an organization committed to diversity and inclusion to drive its business results and to create a better future every day for its diverse employees, clients, partners and communities.
