Job Description: Registered Nurse in the ICU responsible for the assessment and care of complex ICU patients, including surgical, medical, cardiac, neuro, and trauma cases. The nurse will provide specialized care, implement patient treatment plans, and coordinate with a multidisciplinary team in a high-acuity setting.

Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive care to ICU patients with varied diagnoses such as ARDS, MI, CVA/TIA, and post-surgical conditions.
• Administer IV medications, including vasopressors and sedatives, and manage hemodynamic lines and ventilators.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Demonstrate critical thinking and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements:

• BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and TNCC certifications required.
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience, excluding travel experience.
• Epic charting system experience.
• Registered Nurse (RN) license through the South Dakota Board of Nursing.
• Comfortable working a 48-hour week contract.

No. Minimum one prior travel assignment Traveler must reside >100 miles outside of facility Permanent staff must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler Patient Types: Complex ICU patients ranging from surgical, medical, cardiac (preferred), neuro and trauma Diagnoses include: ARDS, MI, CVA/TIA, COVID, s/p cardiac cath, post-surgical, multiple system trauma – heavy trauma population Cardiac experience is preferred (not required): CABG/TAVR – 24 to 48 hrs post op experience is preferred but not required for travelers Will not take fresh open hearts unless they are experienced, and the facility felt comfortable with this – given to permanent staff Patient Ratios: RN: 1:1, 2:1, 3:1
