Key Responsibilities

As a core member of our art department, your contributions will directly shape the visual narrative of our games. Your primary responsibilities will include:

• VFX Design & Implementation: Design, prototype, and implement performant VFX assets and systems that seamlessly integrate into the game engine.

• Technical Artistry: Develop advanced particle systems, high-fidelity textures, and custom shaders. You will be responsible for balancing visual complexity with strict performance budgets.

• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with designers, gameplay engineers, and technical artists to ensure that visual effects support gameplay clarity, narrative beats, and overall project vision.

• Workflow Optimization: Document, organize, and refine VFX pipelines. You will be expected to troubleshoot performance bottlenecks and identify opportunities to improve our team’s efficiency.

• Performance Tuning: Maintain a deep understanding of hardware constraints, ensuring all effects are optimized for smooth, real-time execution across target platforms.

Candidate Requirements

To succeed in this role, you should be a seasoned professional who understands the nuance of real-time rendering and the importance of visual polish.

Core Qualifications:

• Experience: A minimum of 5+ years of professional experience in the game development industry, specifically focused on real-time VFX.
• Engine Proficiency: Expert-level mastery of Unreal Engine and the Niagara system.
• Technical Skillset: Strong proficiency in creating custom shaders and materials, including deep knowledge of HLSL .
• Tooling: Extensive experience with particle systems, texture atlas creation, and the use of Blueprints to drive dynamic effect behaviors.
• Soft Skills: Proven ability to work in a collaborative, cross-discipline environment. You must be a strong self-manager capable of balancing multiple project tasks under deadline pressure.
• Preferred Background: While not required, prior experience shipping AAA titles is highly valued. A portfolio demonstrating a clear understanding of composition, color theory, and motion is essential.
