The successful candidate will have extensive experience in labor and delivery, providing high-quality care to mothers and newborns in a fast-paced environment.Job DetailsShift: NightsShift Length: 12 hoursGuaranteed Hours: 36 hours per weekWeekend Requirements: Every other weekend (Friday and Saturday nights)Unit InformationUnit Type: Labor and Delivery (L&D)L&D Beds: 13Operating Room Suites: 2 for C-SectionsTriage Beds: 2Postpartum Beds: 14Average Births: 170-190 per month; 2,104 deliveries in 2025Patient Ratios: 1:2 L&D, 1:3-4 couplets following AWHONN guidelinesQualificationsMust possess a current BLS Certification and NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)A minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in Labor & DeliveryExperience managing high-risk patients, including those with preeclampsia, diabetes, and psychosocial issuesAbility to independently attend deliveries and assist with C-sections, including catching babies and transitioning newbornsFamiliarity with titrating drips, including Magnesium, Pitocin, and InsulinRoles and ResponsibilitiesProvide comprehensive nursing care to laboring patients and newbornsCollaborate with the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomesMonitor and assess the status of mothers and infants during labor, delivery, and postpartum stagesDocument and maintain accurate patient records according to facility protocolsParticipate in unit-based orientations and training sessions to stay updated on best practicesEngage with families to provide education and support throughout the labor and delivery processAdditional InformationOrientation will include an 8-hour compliance session with the unit-based educator, followed by an EPIC training class and 2-3 shifts of unit-specific trainingPatient care assistants and surgical techs are available to support nursing staffOn-site OB anesthesia providers and neonatologists are available 24/7 for emergency situationsJoin our dynamic team and make a difference in the lives of mothers and infants during one of the most critical times in their lives.
