Staff Accountant, Cicero, IL

The Royal Group , an affiliate of Schwarz Partners, is currently seeking a Staff Accountant to support our Cicero, IL facility. The Staff Accountant supports the financial operations of the company by maintaining accurate records, preparing financial reports, and assisting with month-end and year-end close processes. This role is essential in ensuring compliance with internal controls and external regulations, particularly within a manufacturing environment. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS FOR THIS POSITION:

Prepare and post journal entries, reconcile general ledger accounts, and assist with month-end closing. Maintain and reconcile inventory accounts, including cost of sold goods and production variances. Support fixed asset accounting and depreciation schedules. Assist with accounts payable and receivable functions as needed. Prepare financial statements and reports for internal and external stakeholders. Ensure compliance with GAAP and company policies. Collaborate with operations and supply chain teams to understand financial impact of production activities. Support audits and tax filings by preparing schedules and documentation. Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy. Prepare financial statements and reports for internal and external stakeholders. Provide some technical directions to other accountants and/or clerical staff doing bookkeeping Provide special project assistance to Director of Finance, or Controller Additional duties as assigned Regular and predictable attendance

REQUIRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field 2+ years of accounting experience Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and Microsoft Excel

PREFERRED EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting. 3+ years of accounting experience preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting Experience with cost accounting and inventory management Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles CPA or progress toward certification is a plus but not required

REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES:

Ability to utilize accounting processes, plus add, subtract, multiply, divide in all units of measure. Ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages and calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, costs, proportions, and volumes Detail- oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment Excell intermediate to advance knowledge including functions such as SUM, AVERAGE, COUNT, IF Statements, PIVOT tables and VLOOKUP.
