T he opportunity

The Product and Experience Design (PxD) Team, part of the Platforms competency within FSO Technology Consulting, works collaboratively with clients to transform their businesses through disruptive innovation and human-centered design. The team helps clients modernize systems, processes, operating structures and products, while applying AI-enabled methods to improve how opportunities are identified, concepts are tested, requirements are developed and product decisions are made. We support the development of high-performing business and customer-facing platforms and services in a rapidly changing and competitive environment. Our team helps clients sustain competitive advantage and profitability by defining technology and product strategies, designing AI-enabled solutions and supporting the execution of complex transformations.

We are looking for an experienced, passionate and results-oriented Product Manager who combines strong product judgment with practical experience using AI-enabled tools and methods to bring products and product organizations to market. The successful candidate will be an effective problem solver who can identify where AI can improve product outcomes, redesign product workflows and decision-making, and guide multidisciplinary teams in the responsible adoption of new capabilities.

Your key responsibilities

The goal is to help our clients transform their businesses through AI-enabled product management. As a Product Manager, you will work with multidisciplinary feature teams, including user experience experts, architects, engineers, data and AI specialists, risk professionals and others, to define and launch products and services for large global organizations. You will use user-centered, data-driven and AI-enabled methods to synthesize research, identify unmet needs, generate and evaluate concepts, define measurable outcomes and accelerate product decisions. You will advocate for users throughout the product lifecycle and apply human judgment to validate AI-generated insights and outputs. You can simplify complex processes and touchpoints, prioritize opportunities and use rapid experimentation and prototype-driven development to deliver exceptional experiences. You are a strategic thinker who can define product roadmaps, manage backlogs, make timely evidence-based decisions and coordinate teams to release quality products within planned timelines. You understand modern platform structures, cloud architectures, digital platforms and enablers, data strategy considerations, and the opportunities and limitations of AI-enabled products. You can also define appropriate human and agent authorities, evaluation approaches, controls and feedback loops for AI-enabled features in complex, regulated environments. In addition, you understand how product and delivery organizations are structured and how their roles, governance and ways of working must evolve as AI becomes embedded across the product lifecycle. Outside client engagements, you have experience with business development activities, including pursuits and proposals, and practice-building activities such as mentoring teams and developing and delivering training.

Skills and attributes for success

• Strategy and Organization
  • Develop product and AI strategies that align with business objectives, identify where AI can create differentiated customer or business value, and account for technology, data, experience design, risk and adoption considerations.
  • Define product organization and operating models, including product taxonomy, organizational structure, funding methods, product delivery processes, governance models and decision rights, that help clients allocate funding, prioritize work and improve delivery quality and efficiency. Incorporate the roles, skills, human and agent authorities, controls and ways of working required for AI-enabled product development.
  • Improve portfolio management by using product metrics, OKRs and AI-enabled insight generation to compare opportunities, test assumptions, align investment to business objectives and increase the transparency and traceability of decisions and outcomes.
• Technology Delivery
  • Drive technology delivery by using AI-enabled research synthesis and requirements tools to translate product vision, customer insights, business rules, process information and enterprise knowledge into traceable business requirements, user stories and acceptance criteria; validate generated outputs with subject-matter experts; and prioritize backlogs and maintain roadmaps.
  • Lead cross-functional teams of designers, engineers, data and AI specialists, risk professionals and testers through the product and software development lifecycles, using AI-assisted prototyping and simulation to test concepts, workflows and value hypotheses before scaling implementation and deployment.
  • Advocate for and operationalize cross-functional practices including user testing, experimentation, functional and regression test automation, AI model and agent evaluations, and alignment with industry, client, risk and regulatory standards.
• Product Enablement
  • Use traditional and AI-enabled product management toolsJIRA, Azure DevOps, Aha!, Productboard and requirements repositories, as well as AI assistants, enterprise knowledge tools and prototype-driven development platforms, to support discovery, prioritize opportunities, develop requirements, test concepts and deliver technology solutions.
  • Use product analytics software and frameworks, such as Pendo and Amplitude, together with AI-enabled qualitative and quantitative analysis, to synthesize user feedback, research, behavioral data and product performance; identify patterns and unmet needs; and translate findings into testable hypotheses and actionable recommendations.
  • Advise on and implement best practices and standards for experience design, agile delivery, technology, data and responsible AI, adapting methods to each client’s maturity, risk profile and regulatory obligations.
  • Embed AI-enabled methods across the product lifecycle to improve speed, quality and decision-making, including opportunity discovery, research synthesis, concept generation, rapid prototyping, requirements development, backlog refinement, product analytics and release planning. Select appropriate tools and models, define reusable prompts and workflows, validate outputs and establish safeguards for responsible use.
• Define and operationalize governance for AI-enabled products, including use-case intake, model and tool selection, evaluation criteria, human oversight, data and privacy controls, explainability, monitoring, escalation and ongoing performance management.
• Core Consulting
  • Construct and communicate a compelling, evidence-based story that helps clients understand potential changes, associated benefits, AI-related risks and required operating-model implications, and rallies stakeholders around a clear path to adoption.
  • Own the desired outcomes defined in client engagements and carry through to implementation
  • Manage service delivery, identifying future sales opportunities, and supporting practice development activities.
  • Maintain long-term client relationships and networks and cultivate business development opportunities.
  • Effectively work with client engagement teams with diverse skills and backgrounds fostering an innovative and inclusive work environment. 
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the current technology and AI environment, relevant financial services trends and the evolving product management toolchain, and provide practical recommendations for engagement delivery and client service issues. 

To qualify for the role you must have

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems Management, Accounting, Finance, or a related field and 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate work experience. Alternatively, will accept a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems Management, Accounting, Finance, or a related field and 4 years of work experience.
• Demonstrated experience applying AI-enabled tools and methods across product discovery and delivery, such as research synthesis, opportunity assessment, requirements development, rapid prototyping, experimentation or product analytics, with clear evidence of human validation and measurable improvement in product outcomes or delivery effectiveness.
• Facilitate discussions with technical, design and business subject-matter resources to document requirements, establish a vision, and articulate alternatives for future state solutions across various domains and channels.
• Has set product vision, defined and managed product roadmaps, prioritized and managed backlogs, and led product launches. Experience should include identifying suitable AI-enabled opportunities, defining measurable product and model outcomes, testing value and feasibility through prototypes or experiments, and incorporating evaluation, human oversight and monitoring into the product lifecycle.
• Can participate in and drive ideation sessions, standups, sprints and scrums.
• Has specific domain knowledge and understands the market, customer, technology, data, AI and regulatory dynamics affecting the product, including the opportunities, limitations and risks of applying AI in a complex financial services environment.
• Experience with successfully managing projects with defined deliverables and budgets. Experience must include budgeting and managing the schedule; client relationship management; communicating strategically around key issues; conflict resolution and consensus building.
• Must have a thorough understanding of complex information systems and technology organizations and to be able to work effectively between the application, data infrastructure, operations and security architectural spaces
• Proven delivery skills including the ability to scope/size a project; staff a team with the appropriate skill set; provide subject matter direction and guidance to a team; manage communications with the project sponsors and manage the delivery of an engagement workstream.
• Requires domestic and regional travel up to 80% to serve client needs.

Ideally, you’ll also have

• Experience designing, launching or scaling AI-enabled products in financial services or another complex, regulated environment.
• Experience defining AI product measures, evaluation criteria, human oversight, controls and monitoring in collaboration with technology, data, risk, legal and compliance stakeholders.
• Experience helping product organizations adopt new AI-enabled workflows, tools, roles and ways of working, supported by strong executive communication and change leadership.

• We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business.  The base salary range for this job is: 
• • New York City, Boston, and Washington DC Metro Areas, Washington State, and Southern California offices – $151,200 to $252,100
  • Bay Area California offices – $157,600 to $262,600
  • All other offices locations in the US, including Sacramento – $125,900 to $231,100
• Individual salaries within these ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography.  In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options.
• Under our flexible vacation policy, you’ll decide how much vacation time you need based on your own personal circumstances.
