Job Summary:

The Echo/Ultrasound/Sonographer is responsible for performing diagnostic ultrasound examinations in various healthcare settings, primarily in nursing homes, home care facilities, prisons, and processing sites. This role requires independence, technical proficiency, and adherence to safety and quality standards to deliver high-quality imaging services.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform portable ultrasound exams ordered by physicians, ensuring images are clinically diagnostic and technically accurate.
  • Verify patient identity using two identifiers and confirm exam orders match the physician's requisitions.
  • Upload and digitally send ultrasound images to radiologists for interpretation within established timeframes.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot sonographic equipment, ensuring proper functioning and reporting malfunctions immediately.
  • Communicate professionally with clients, dispatch, peers, and supervisory staff, responding promptly to urgent messages.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety, infection control, and documentation protocols, including annual physical exams and TB screenings.
Qualifications:
  • Hold current ARDMS or CCI registry certification in Vascular Ultrasound.
  • Graduate from an accredited diagnostic ultrasound technology program.
  • Maintain valid licensure, certification, and health requirements, providing documentation upon request.
  • Possess a valid driver's license, with the ability to produce it on demand, with periodic license checks.
  • Be vaccinated against COVID-19 or submit proper exemption documentation.
  • Demonstrate strong organizational, communication, and basic computer skills.
