Job Summary The Pharmacist is responsible for dispensing medications, providing patient counseling, and ensuring the safe and effective use of pharmaceutical products. This role collaborates with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes while maintaining compliance with regulatory standards and organizational policies. Key Responsibilities A ccurately prepare, verify, and dispense prescribed medications. Provide patient counseling on proper medication use, potential side effects, and interactions. Review prescriptions for accuracy, appropriateness, and potential drug interactions. Collaborate with healthcare providers to recommend therapeutic alternatives and dosage adjustments. Maintain accurate patient medication records and documentation. Ensure compliance with state and federal pharmacy laws, regulations, and organizational policies. Manage inventory of medications and supplies, including ordering and restocking. Participate in quality assurance and continuous improvement initiatives. Educate patients and staff on pharmaceutical best practices and safety protocols. Required Qualifications Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree or equivalent. Active pharmacist license in the state of practice. Strong knowledge of pharmacology, therapeutics, and drug interactions. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment. Attention to detail and commitment to patient safety. Must have at least 2 years of recent experience in the specialty within the past 2 years. Preferred Qualifications (if any) Prior experience in hospital or clinical pharmacy settings. Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems. Experience with medication therapy management (MTM). Advanced training or specialization in clinical pharmacy practice. Certifications (if any) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (preferred). Board Certification in Pharmacotherapy (BCPS) or other specialty certifications (preferred).
