Travel Respiratory Therapist

Minimum experience: 2 years; 1st timers are accepted

Patient population: Neonates, adults, geriatrics

Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, RRT or minimum of CRTT (CRT must have critical care skills/experience along with 5 years or greater experience as a therapist)

General skills and work setting requirements: Required skills include ABG interpretation, CPAP/nasal CPAP/BiPAP, flow-by, troubleshooting high pressure alarms, weaning from mechanical ventilation, trach collar, high flow nasal cannula, airway management

Ratio/census: Not specified

Department systems: Epic (required), Pyxis

Scrub color: Pewter gray

RTO: MAX 7 days

RTO blackout dates: Spring break (April 4th-12th)

Weekends: Every other weekend unless specified elsewhere

Floating: Yes, within facility/scope of practice as needed and possibly to additional campus (Piedmont Augusta Summerville – 3 miles down the road)

Call requirements: None

Holidays: If one major holiday falls in his/her assignment period, the traveler is expected to work it. If two major holidays fall in his/her assignment period, the traveler is expected to work both of the holidays. If three major holidays fall in his/her assignment period, the traveler is expected to work two of the holidays. Major holidays are listed below: Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, New Years Eve/New Years Day

Compliance: Full compliance required to start on time; if not compliant in time the push back is 2 weeks due to bi-weekly orientation schedule.

Aya offer information: Once candidate has signed and confirmation has been sent, manager has 48 hours to review the profile/confirmation and determine if unit/schedule/expertise fit. Aya offer only available if clinical pass within RTO guidelines + meets specific facility requirements. Locals accepted - same rate

Please note: Number of non-billable orientation hours is determined by contract length (ex 8hrs for 8 week assignment; 10hrs for 10 week assignment)
