Administrative Patient Services Representative

Join a dedicated healthcare team in the heart of the Midwest region, supporting patients and staff in a busy Breast Center. This role serves as the first point of contact, greeting patients warmly and managing clerical duties to ensure smooth daily operations.

General Summary

The Administrative Patient Services Representative acts as receptionist and performs essential clerical tasks to support the Breast Center's functions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Welcome and check in patients, notifying appropriate personnel of arrivals and informing patients about any delays.
• Perform clerical duties such as typing, entering charges, and updating data in computer systems promptly and accurately.
• Complete required forms with attention to detail and timeliness.
• Maintain a professional and organized office environment.
• Engage in ongoing professional development and demonstrate courteous, professional behavior.
• Communicate effectively with patients of varying ages, adapting skills as needed.
• Participate actively in departmental Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) initiatives and contribute to quality control efforts.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Experience

Previous office experience is preferred but not required.

Mental and Physical Requirements

This position requires close mental and visual attention for extended periods. The role can be stressful due to customer demands and patient conditions. Physical activities include standing, walking, sitting, carrying or lifting items up to 15 pounds, turning, pushing, pulling, and stooping. Ability to move throughout the department independently is necessary.
