Job Summary: Project Quality / Quality Assurance




This position is responsible for managing and overseeing quality assurance and quality control activities on major Oil & Gas projects, with a strong focus on construction, procurement, contractors, suppliers, auditing, and project completion.







Key Responsibilities
 
  • Implement and maintain the Project Quality Plan across the assigned project scope.
  • Promote quality awareness and provide quality training to project personnel.
  • Oversee contractors' quality programs and ensure compliance with project and contractual requirements.
  • Review and approve:
  • Contractor Quality Plans
  • Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs)
  • Contractor QA organizations and key personnel
  • Quality requirements for contracts and purchase orders
  • Develop and manage surveillance and audit programs covering engineering, procurement, construction, contractors, and suppliers.
  • Perform site assessments and audits to identify quality issues and verify compliance.
  • Monitor project quality metrics and identify trends or areas requiring corrective action.
  • Work with contractors and project teams to resolve quality issues and drive improvements.
  • Participate in the qualification and evaluation of subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Oversee procurement and construction quality activities until dedicated Procurement Quality Coordinator (PQC) and Site Quality Coordinator (SQC) resources are assigned.
  • Ensure proper quality documentation is completed for project closeout and turnover to operations.
  • Regularly report quality status, issues, metrics, lessons learned, and recommendations to Project and Quality Management.


Ideal Candidate




Someone with:
 
  • Strong Oil & Gas project quality experience, particularly on major production/facilities projects.
  • Hands-on knowledge of construction QA/QC and completions.
  • Significant experience managing project quality management systems.
  • Extensive experience conducting quality audits and surveillance.
  • Experience overseeing contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and inspectors.
  • Understanding of procurement, construction, inspection, testing, and project turnover processes.
  • Previous experience representing the client/owner on a major facilities project is preferred.
  • Bachelor's or Associate degree in Engineering or Science preferred.
  • Relevant technical, inspection, and/or auditing certifications preferred.
  • Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally to project locations.
This is essentially a senior project quality professional who acts as the client's quality representative. They make sure contractors and suppliers are building and delivering equipment and facilities according to project specifications, quality standards, and contractual requirements.




The strongest candidate will likely have a combination of Oil & Gas construction quality, auditing, contractor oversight, procurement/supplier quality, and project completions experience, rather than someone whose background is limited to performing inspections.
