Carl F. Riedell & Son is hiring an experienced HVAC Lead Installer to join our growing team in Osterville, MA.
This is a hands-on leadership position for an HVAC professional who can lead installations, work alongside a helper, and take ownership of each job from start to finish. We’re looking for someone who takes pride in quality workmanship and is willing to teach and develop less-experienced installers.
Responsibilities
Lead residential and light commercial HVAC installations
Install heat pumps, ductless systems, furnaces, air handlers, and related equipment
Work alongside installation helpers and provide hands-on training and guidance
Teach and share HVAC installation knowledge with team members
Read blueprints, wiring diagrams, and equipment specifications
Perform system start-ups, testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting
Ensure installations meet applicable codes and manufacturer specifications
Communicate with customers, foremen, and other Riedell team members
Maintain clean, safe, and organized jobsites and vehicles
Identify potential issues and communicate them to the appropriate team members
Take responsibility for the quality and completion of each installation
Qualifications
3+ years of HVAC installation experience
Strong residential HVAC installation experience
Experience with heat pumps, ductless systems, furnaces, and air handlers
Knowledge of HVAC installation practices, codes, and manufacturer requirements
Ability to read wiring diagrams, blueprints, and equipment specifications
Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
Willingness to train and mentor less-experienced installers
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Valid Massachusetts driver's license and clean driving record
EPA certification preferred
Dependable, organized, and detail-oriented
Ability to lift 50+ lbs. and work in attics, crawlspaces, basements, and varying weather conditions
