An exciting contract opportunity is available for an experienced Special Education Teacher to work with middle and high school students in a supportive school environment near Manokotak, AK. This full-time position offers the chance to make a meaningful difference supporting learners with diverse needs. The ideal candidate is board certified, eager to begin as soon as possible, and committed to fostering student growth and inclusivity.
Qualifications:
- Board certification in Special Education.
- Experience supporting middle and/or high school students in a school setting.
- Knowledgeable in developing and implementing IEPs.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with general education staff, families, and service providers.
- Flexible, positive, and dedicated to enhancing student success.
Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized and small group instruction aligned with IEP goals.
- Develop, implement, and assess educational plans tailored for each student’s unique needs.
- Collaborate with educators, counselors, and families to support student achievement.
- Monitor students' progress, maintain accurate records, and participate in IEP meetings.
- Create an inclusive, engaging classroom environment that promotes learning and growth.
- Address behavioral and academic challenges with effective strategies and interventions.
