The Director of Nursing is responsible for the overall leadership, management, and direction of the Nursing Department. The DON works collaboratively with the Administrator, Medical Director, and interdisciplinary team to ensure the delivery of exceptional resident-centered care while maintaining compliance with all federal, state, and accreditation standards.

This position provides strategic oversight of clinical operations, staffing, quality improvement initiatives, infection prevention, survey readiness, employee development, and resident outcomes. Compensation

Starting salary: $130,000+ annually, commensurate with experience, qualifications, and demonstrated leadership in skilled nursing and long-term care operations.

The Director of Nursing will have the full support of an engaged Administrator and leadership team committed to clinical excellence, staff development, and regulatory success.

Key Responsibilities

· Provide leadership and oversight for all nursing operations.

· Ensure compliance with CMS, Massachusetts DPH, Joint Commission, and other regulatory requirements.

· Maintain survey readiness and lead corrective action initiatives as needed.

· Direct quality improvement, infection prevention, and risk management activities.

· Recruit, develop, mentor, and retain nursing staff.

· Monitor staffing levels and ensure appropriate clinical coverage.

· Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to promote positive resident outcomes.

· Oversee clinical documentation, care planning, admissions, and discharge processes.

· Manage departmental budgets, supplies, and equipment.

· Promote a culture of accountability, professionalism, and resident-centered care.

Qualifications

· Current Massachusetts RN License in good standing.

· Minimum 3 years of nursing leadership experience in a skilled nursing facility.

· Previous Director of Nursing experience preferred.

· Strong knowledge of CMS regulations, Massachusetts DPH requirements, and survey processes.

· Demonstrated leadership, communication, and team-building skills.

· Experience with quality improvement and clinical operations.
