Pay: $24–$34/hour DOE
Employment Type: Direct Hire | Full-Time | Onsite
Schedule: 12-Hour Night Shift | 2-2-3 Rotating Schedule

Position Overview

We are seeking experienced Industrial Refrigeration / Boiler Technicians for direct-hire opportunities with a manufacturing operation in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

This is a hands-on maintenance position supporting industrial refrigeration, boiler, utility, and mechanical systems. Candidates with direct ammonia refrigeration experience are strongly encouraged to apply; however, the company is also willing to consider technicians with backgrounds in industrial HVAC, commercial/industrial refrigeration, boiler systems, hazardous-chemical environments, or industrial mechanical maintenance who have the aptitude to develop additional refrigeration and utility-system expertise.

The facility is currently undergoing significant expansion with the development of a new state-of-the-art facility , creating opportunities for technicians interested in long-term growth and working with modern industrial systems and equipment.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate, inspect, troubleshoot, maintain, and assist with repairs to industrial refrigeration, boiler, utility, and mechanical systems.
• Perform routine equipment inspections and audits to identify operating or maintenance concerns.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, refrigeration, boiler, and related equipment problems.
• Work with maintenance team members to plan and complete equipment repairs.
• Respond to unplanned equipment failures and emergency maintenance requests in a timely and effective manner.
• Support preventive and predictive maintenance activities.
• Maintain safe operating practices when working around refrigeration systems, boilers, utilities, and hazardous chemicals.
• Communicate equipment conditions, maintenance needs, and repair status with Operations and other departments.
• Follow applicable food-safety and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) requirements.
• Maintain accurate maintenance and equipment documentation.
• Work independently when required while contributing effectively as part of the maintenance team.
• Obtain and maintain applicable RETA certification as required by the position.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 1+ years of related industrial mechanical maintenance or food-manufacturing experience/training , or equivalent direct industrial maintenance experience.
• Relevant hands-on experience in one or more of the following areas:
  • Industrial HVAC
  • Commercial or industrial refrigeration
  • Ammonia refrigeration
  • Boiler systems
  • Hazardous-chemical systems or environments
  • Industrial mechanical maintenance
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability.
• Demonstrated commitment to safe work practices.
• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a maintenance team.
• Willingness and ability to obtain RETA certification if not already certified.
• Ability to work a 12-hour night shift on a rotating 2-2-3 schedule .
• Ability to work full-time onsite in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

Compensation & Benefits

$24–$34/hour DOE, full benefits, relocation assistance available, direct-hire full-time employment, and long-term growth opportunities associated with the development of a new state-of-the-art facility in Sioux Falls. South Dakota also has no individual state income tax.
