CDL Truck Driver - Residential

Schedule: 6 AM–4:30 PM. Monday‑Friday or Monday‑Thursday. Pay: $25 per hour. Job Summary Drivers operate heavy‑duty trucks with front, side, or rear‑end load lift attachments depending on the line of business and truck type. They transport material to disposal, transfer, or recycle facilities once trucks reach legal load capacity. Commercial Drivers provide pickup service of containers filled with waste or recyclable material, including maneuvering wheeled containers that may weigh over 1,000 pounds. Residential Drivers collect residential household waste or recyclable material, navigating congested roads and residential environments. Roll‑off Drivers prepare, load, and transport large mobile open‑top and compactor containers from customer locations, often in tight overhead environments. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Operate vehicle in accordance with Waste Management Safety and Life Critical Rules, OSHA, DOT, and all local, state and federal laws. Perform pre‑ and post‑trip inspections of assigned vehicle and document checks utilizing the standard DVIR. Immediately report all unsafe situations or service‑related issues to Operations Manager or Dispatch. Attend and participate in all scheduled training programs, briefings, and meetings as required by WM or directed by the Route Manager. Work closely with Operations Manager to improve route efficiencies and identify best practices. Notify Operations Manager of any incidents, accidents, injuries, or property damage. Notify Operations Manager or Dispatch of service interruptions including closed or impassable streets, heavy receptacles, or potential safety hazards. Communicate customer requests to Operations Manager or Dispatch. Complete all receptacles, leaving the customer’s location clean and free of debris. Follow route assignments as directed and complete end‑of‑day documentation and check‑out process. Perform assigned duties and assist other drivers as directed to meet customer needs. Required Qualifications 1 year operating a vehicle requiring a CDL 1 year equivalent military driving within the last 7 years Ability to read, write, and speak English sufficiently to interact with the public and complete records At least 18 years of age Legally eligible to work in the country where the position is located Class A CDL with air‑brake endorsement (upon hire) Class B CDL with air‑brake endorsement (upon hire) Preferred Qualifications High School Diploma or GED (accredited) Physical Requirements Standing, walking, lifting, pushing, pulling, crouching, reaching, handling, sitting, talking, hearing, and other physical demands as listed.
