This is a role where your expertise matters, your voice is heard, and your impact is visible.What You'll DoRegulatory Strategy & Thought LeadershipMonitor federal and state legislative and regulatory activity affecting health-and-welfare plans, voluntary benefits, and retiree medical programs - staying ahead of changes that impact our business and our clients.Serve as the trusted regulatory resource, delivering clear, actionable guidance on complex compliance questions.Anticipate regulatory risks and recommend proactive operational or system-based solutions to stay compliant while minimizing exposure.Client Advisory & SupportPartner with plan sponsors as their dedicated regulatory advisor, providing timely guidance on legislative changes that affect employees and retirees - working collaboratively with their legal counsel and internal teams.Translate new or evolving federal and state regulations into practical, client-specific recommendations.Guide clients through regulatory transitions by identifying operational gaps, proposing plan-design adjustments, and coordinating implementation timelines for seamless execution.Internal Partnership & Problem-SolvingAct as the go-to subject-matter expert for Operations colleagues navigating day-to-day regulatory questions, ensuring accuracy and practical context.Contribute regulatory expertise to sales and new-business initiatives, strengthening client discussions, solution design, and competitive proposals.Review TELUS Health client contracts, Statements of Work, and service descriptions to verify alignment with regulatory requirements and internal standards.Support system development and product initiatives by vetting requirements, validating regulatory logic, and confirming accurate implementation.Training & Knowledge ManagementDevelop and deliver focused training sessions on new or evolving legislative requirements for Operations teams and internal partners.Create and maintain internal reference materials, compliance playbooks, and communication tools that enable colleagues to understand and consistently apply complex regulations.What You BringRequired Experience & Knowledge5 years of relevant professional experience in benefits administration, regulatory support, or benefits operations. A Juris Doctor (JD) is preferred but not required.Background in a TPA (Third-Party Administrator) or multi-client benefits environment, working across multiple client plans and regulations.Deep, hands-on expertise in at least one of the following regulatory domains:ERISA and ACA administrationBenefits, or leave-law complianceProven ability to interpret legislation, regulatory guidance, and legal rulings, then translate them into real-world operational or system processes.Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a talent for explaining complex regulatory concepts to diverse audiences including plan sponsors and senior leadership to Operations teammates with varying levels of regulatory familiarity.Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, coupled with meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.PreferredDirect experience supporting plan-sponsor clients on regulatory impact analysis, compliance documentation, and change-communication initiatives.Experience in collaborating with system-development or product teams, validating regulatory logic and requirements throughout the product lifecycle.Professional certifications such as CEBS (Certified Employee Benefit Specialist) or an equivalent industry credential.Compensation & BenefitsSalary Range: $86,500– $98,000 USD AnnualPerformance Bonus: Eligible for bonus tied to client delivery and organizational performanceActual total compensation will be determined based on factors such as knowledge, skills, performance and experience.
