Description
  • Conduct thorough evaluations for patients spanning pediatric, adult, and geriatric demographics using both standardized tests and detailed observations.
  • Create individualized treatment strategies aimed at both immediate and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing rehabilitation goals.
  • Implement focused speech therapy sessions that enhance areas such as language, fluency, voice clarity, and swallowing safety.
  • Collaborate seamlessly with a multidisciplinary team including physical and occupational therapists, nurses, physicians, and the families of patients to ensure a united approach to care.
  • Empower families with guidance and education to support their loved ones' progress beyond clinical interactions.
  • Provide inpatient speech evaluations and therapeutic interventions as needed, ensuring a continuous care experience.
  • Maintain comprehensive and precise documentation that adheres to all applicable regulations and standards.
  • Pursue ongoing learning opportunities and foster connectivity with peers to stay updated on industry advancements.
Education
  • A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if you are not yet ASHA-certified.
Certifications
  • Active state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.
  • Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) awarded by ASHA.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification to be obtained within 30 days of joining.
Skills
  • Expertise in employing evidence-based treatment methodologies across age groups, with a keen grasp of both developmental and acquired speech and swallowing disorders.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills that allow for effective communication with patients, their families, and a team of diverse healthcare providers.
  • Capability to tailor therapy techniques to accommodate various cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
  • Strong clinical assessment and innovative problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with electronic health records and related documentation practices.
