Sales Consultant

Slyman Bros Appliances is looking for a motivated and customer-focused Sales Representative to join our Columbia, Missouri team! We are looking for someone who is confident, driven, competitive, and enjoys working with people. This position is a great fit for someone who wants to build a career in sales and have their earning potential directly tied to their performance. Previous appliance experience a plus but is not required. We can teach you appliances, brands, and product knowledge. What we're looking for is someone with the right attitude, work ethic, communication skills, and motivation to succeed. What You'll Do: As a Sales Representative, you'll work directly with customers to understand what they're looking for and help them select the right appliances for their home, needs, and budget. Responsibilities include: Assist customers in our Columbia showroom, over the phone, and through online leads Build relationships with customers and provide a great buying experience Ask the right questions to understand customer needs, measurements, installation requirements, and budget Recommend appliances and packages that best fit each customer Prepare quotes and accurately complete sales Follow up with leads, quotes, and existing customers Maintain knowledge of our appliance brands, products, promotions, warranties, and financing options Clearly communicate delivery, installation, haul-away, and customer preparation requirements Maintain accurate customer and order information Develop repeat and referral business Meet individual sales and performance goals Work closely with our Customer Experience, Inventory, and Delivery teams to ensure a smooth experience from purchase through delivery What We're Looking For: Motivated and goal-oriented Confident and comfortable talking with customers Competitive and driven to succeed Friendly, professional, and able to build relationships A strong listener who can identify what a customer actually needs Organized and able to manage multiple customers and follow-ups Dependable and accountable Comfortable learning product specifications and technical information Able to work independently while also being part of a team Willing to learn and continuously improve their sales and product knowledge Previous experience in sales, retail, appliances, furniture, automotive sales, home improvement, or another commission-based environment is a plus, but not required. Compensation: This is a commission-based sales position with strong earning potential. Your earning potential is directly tied to your performance, giving motivated salespeople the opportunity to grow their income as they build their customer base, product knowledge, and sales skills.
