Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) Registered Nurse (RN)

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) Registered Nurse (RN) to join our dynamic team. This position requires a commitment to providing exceptional care for critically ill patients in the CVICU setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and manage patient conditions, including the administration of medications and intravenous therapy.
• Titrate drips and manage complexities associated with various cardiovascular conditions.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to create and implement individualized patient care plans.
• Perform assessments, document findings, and report changes in patient status to appropriate team members.
• Assist in procedures and utilize advanced technology and equipment as needed.
• Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, and emotional aspects of care.
• Participate in unit meetings and contribute to continuous quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience in a Cardiovascular Intensive Care setting.
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications are required.
• Experience with IABP, CRRT, and fresh Open Heart Surgery patients is preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret cardiac telemetry strips.
• Completion of a dysrhythmia exam with a passing score prior to contract signing is mandatory.
• Must be willing to float to ICU/PCU/MS/Tele units as needed.
• Ability to work weekends and holidays per unit staffing needs.

Work Environment

This position involves working 12-hour night shifts with a guaranteed 36 hours per week. The nurse-to-patient ratio in this unit may vary from 1:1 to 1:2, depending on patient acuity.

Important Notes

• Weekend work is required; two weekend shifts are mandatory per pay period.
• In-house Intensivists are available for support.
• Remote monitoring is provided through in-room devices.
• Scrub color is navy blue.
• Unit-specific orientation will be provided upon hire.
