Marketing Services Manager

Job Overview Marketing Services Manager for HDR’s Water Business Group. The role supports business development, proposal management, and marketing coordination in a team‑oriented environment. Responsibilities Lead or manage the marketing efforts of Water Business Group pursuits, including development of winning strategies, proposal and presentation preparation, quality review, coaching of presentation teams, and external marketing materials. These tasks involve research, collaboration, technical and creative writing, and layout development. Develop and coordinate graphics, writing and editing, desktop publishing, and document development and production. Coordinate and lead marketing coordinators in the production of marketing materials, reviewing and ensuring quality assurance of all marketing content. Work with the BDM to keep HDR’s internal tracking systems and marketing databases updated, adding to the library of resumes, statements of qualifications, proposals, and presentations. Support the BDM in the development of annual strategic planning in coordination with regional efforts. Monitor and report marketing performance indicators, including win and capture rates and marketing costs. Review monthly booking reports and support the BDM in forecasting annual bookings. Help train and support client managers to better understand client business and leverage internal staff to win projects. Work with client managers to develop complete and strong client management plans. Preferred Qualifications 5+ years in a similar role within engineering consulting, architecture, planning, or construction, developing strategic initiatives, client management plans, pursuit capture plans, and client needs confirmation. Ability to create or oversee highly graphical and compelling content for qualifications, proposals, and presentations using a “theme‑modular” approach. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including technical editing. Willingness to travel to all Missouri and Kansas offices to support key pursuits. Team‑oriented self‑starter adaptable to diverse staff and skill levels. Experience developing and managing diverse teams, working cooperatively with regional, national, technical, and marketing staff. Ability to handle multiple tasks, tight deadlines, and make independent decisions. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and document layout and production. Committed to quality, improvement, and HDR values. Required Qualifications A minimum of 8 years of relevant industry experience. Demonstrated self‑starter ability with a history of completing projects with limited oversight. Ability to motivate and inspire others. Experience in sales and developing effective win strategies. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud applications, including InDesign. Ability and desire to travel and engage with others in person. Experience winning high‑value contracts in the A/E/C industry.
