Controller

Spyderco, Inc., a conservative, established manufacturing company committed to producing superior tactical, sporting, and cutlery knives and accessories is growing! Hours: Monday through Friday 7:30 am to 4:30 pm


Compensation: $125,000.00 - $145,000.00 annually.

General Purpose:
The Controller is responsible for supplying management any/all financial information necessary for making policy decisions. Responsibilities also include the computation and timely payment of all taxes and contractual obligations. This person supervises directly or indirectly all accounting functions: budgeting, cost accounting, general accounting, accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, etc.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Coordinate the preparation of financial statements and other financial reports
• Manage the day-to-day accounting functions of A/R, A/P, General Ledger, Payroll and ensure these functions are accurate, consistent, and efficient
• Assist with management of our ERP system, Oracle NetSuite for Manufacturing
• Create and manage operating budgets, analyze accounts out of alignment
• Assist in managing the company's banking relationships and processes
• Ensure legal and regulatory compliance regarding all financial functions
• Assist in financial analysis and planning for new equipment or major purchases
• Oversee payroll processing, Simple IRA management, state, and federal compliance
• Assist in implementing short- and long-term departmental goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures
• Oversee and manage credit functions and continuously assess risk
• Assist with risk management and reporting for insurance purposes
• Acts as an advisor from the financial perspective on any contracts into which the Company may enter
• Incorporates the Company's culture into all aspects of the department's functions
• Coordinates year-end financial review with outside CPA's and prepares any necessary workpapers
• Perform Balance Sheet account reconciliations
• Responsible for fixed asset accounting
• Government reporting as required

Other Duties and Responsibilities:
Performs other duties as required, which may include attending meetings, preparing reports and other correspondence, and communicating with vendors and customers.

Qualifications :
• High School Diploma or equivalent


-Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Business, or other related field
-CPA
- High level of integrity and dependability
• Solid working knowledge of manufacturing and inventory control
• Strong Information Technology and ERP skills
• Effective analytic, verbal, and written communication skills
• Enjoyment of sport and the outdoors is a plus!
