Respiratory Therapist - Canton Potsdam Hospital [Per Diem] Job Title: Respiratory Therapist - Per Diem Department: Respiratory Therapy Location: Canton - Potsdam Hospital Hours Per Week: As scheduled Schedule: 12 hour night shift, 7p–7a; every other weekend rotation Summary: As a Registered Respiratory Therapist, your knowledge, strong attention to detail, compassion and analytical capabilities ensure meaningful, personalized care for each respiratory patient. Responsibilities Strategic Planning: Partners with the Respiratory Director to align operational goals with organizational strategic plans by maintaining awareness of internal and external factors impacting success. Operational Performance: Supports development and monitoring of operational objectives and metrics, communicates performance outcomes, and identifies improvement opportunities. Quality & Safety Improvement: Implements evidence-based quality indicators, continuous improvement processes, and safety risk mitigation strategies; provides training on quality methodologies and goals. Financial & Resource Management: Assists in managing operations to meet financial standards, reduce waste, and ensure safety and efficiency using IT systems and interdepartmental collaboration. Customer Service Excellence: Delivers exceptional service by prioritizing the needs of patients, physicians, and staff in all operational decisions and initiatives. Required Qualifications Graduate of American Medical Association approved two‑year Respiratory school or equivalent. Current NYS Respiratory Therapist or Certified Respiratory Technician license from NYS Department of Education. Registered with the National Board of Respiratory Care or equivalent. Current AHA BLS certification at hire. AHA ACLS, PALS and NRP must be obtained within 3 months of hire. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor degree in Respiratory Care, RPFT qualification, CCRP certification. Clinical experience in general respiratory therapies, critical and emergent respiratory therapies as one would receive in an approved two‑year school or equivalent. Union 1199-721 - LPN & Technical (CPH) Note: Not all per diem roles are union eligible. Physical Requirements M – Medium Work: Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting. Pay Range $35.42 – $52.55 The listed base pay range is a good‑faith representation of current potential base pay for a successful full‑time applicant. It may be modified in the future and is eligible for additional pay components.
