Occupational Therapist

Occupational Therapist - This position will be working at Hughston Clinic Orthopaedics at TriStar Stonecrest in Smyrna, TN and Hughston Clinic Orthopaedics in Lebanon, TN.

POSITION GOAL

To perform occupational therapy/hand therapy treatments, evaluations and related services established by state law.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

• •Plan and administer occupational therapy (OT) treatments for patients referred to by qualified physicians.
• •Observe and become aware of progress of patient, discuss with physician as necessary.
• •Instruct patients in home exercise programs and provide written instructions as appropriate.
• •Fabricate splints, braces, hand and wrist covers, etc. to support hand therapy treatments as required.
• •Provide a comfortable, orderly, clean and safe clinical environment.
• •Comply with all national and state guidelines as required by law.
• •Provide effective and ethical intervention to promote healing and restore function.
• •Participate in educational opportunities to maintain licensed and facilitate the highest standard of practice.
• •Assign work to and instruct Rehabilitation Aides.
• •Communicate progress, both written and verbal, to patients, physicians and lead therapists as necessary.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Experience:

Required:

Preferred:

• •One (1) year of previous OT experience.
• •Splinting and wound care experience.

Education:

Required:

• •Must be a graduate of an accredited school of Occupational therapy.

Special Qualifications:

Required:

• •Valid Driver’s License, satisfactory motor vehicle report (MVR) and proof of insurance required for position on-boarding.
• •Annual MVR may be required per policy and procedure; background reports may be ran as needed throughout the course of employment.
• •May require working at multiple locations.
• •Must have current state Occupational Therapy license.
• •Current BLS certification through American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
