Job TitleThis role is responsible for building, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing tools & dies in support of our progressive and secondary stamping presses. The position collaborates closely with design engineers.Essential FunctionsTo accomplish this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform satisfactorily, with or without reasonable accommodation each stated essential function. Reasonable accommodations may be made to help enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Design, Build, Assemble, and Troubleshoot:Set up and operate all tool room equipment: surface grinders, heat treat ovens, hone, polishing, jig bore, etc.Inspect parts visually and dimensionally to meet print criteria using precision measuring instruments such as optical comparators, micrometers, calipers, and depth gauges.Perform all work necessary to assure that parts produced will meet the drawing specifications and pass internal inspection.Non-Essential ResponsibilitiesPerforms other duties as directed.Maintain a clean, safe, and efficient work area at all times.Position Qualifications and Competency StatementsCommunication – Ability to effectively communicate with others verbally and in writing.Time Management – Ability to utilize the available time to organize, prioritize and complete work within given deadlines.Technical Aptitude – Ability to comprehend complex technical and specialized information.Applied Learning – Ability to participate in needed learning activities in a way that makes the most of the learning experience.Accountability – Ability to accept responsibility and account for his/her actions.Analytical Aptitude – Ability to collect and analyze information, problem-solve, and make recommendation for decisions.Initiative – Ability to stay motivated, ambitious, and curious without the help of others.Performs under Stress – Ability to critically prioritize work and ensure timely completion of various unrelated projects.Skills and Abilities2+ years' experience with tool and die fabrication, preferably with metal stamping company.Preferred knowledge of coining metals, nickel alloy behavior, deep draw, and transfer press techniques.Basic math & trigonometry.Knowledge of blueprint reading, GD&T.Work EnvironmentThis position works in a shop environment. The employee must be cognizant of hazards, including but not limited to variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, and exposure to high heat or exposure to chemicals.
