VP of Finance

POSITION DESCRIPTION

JOB TITLE: Vice President, Finance Endicott, NY, USA or Toronto/Waterloo Region, Ontario Canada About the Company: A fast-growing solar photovoltaic (PV) manufacturing company with significant proprietary and patented technologies to the Southern Tier region of Upstate New York. The company plans to expand operations into Bécancour, Québec, Canada and eventually in Ontario, Canada. Position Overview: The Vice President, Finance is a hands-on leadership role responsible for the corporate accounting function with deliverables focused on quarterly reporting of financial statements. The candidate will be responsible for financial processes, financial systems, and controls. Opportunities exist for the role to be based in either Endicott, New York or in theToronto to Waterloo, Ontario corridor. The role will report directly to the Chief Financial Officer located in Toronto. Job Description:

• Responsible for and lead the monthly, quarterly and year-end financial close process.
• Lead the preparation and review of all financial statements, including monthly internal

business unit/divisional financial statements and quarterly external financial statements. • Ensure all external reporting is in compliance with IFRS, the Ontario Securities Commission, the Toronto Stock Exchange. • Preparation/review of complex accounting areas including business combinations, contingent consideration, debt and equity, segmented reporting, etc. • Develop, refine, and implement policies and procedures to ensure proper accounting and controls of financial information. • Oversee the relationship with external auditors to ensure smooth and efficient execution of annual year-end audit. • Manage and supervise regional controllers to ensure consistent application of accounting policies and procedures.

• Manage the company’s banking relationships and organizational cash flow
• Some travel will be required between company sites but one site will be the main base.
• The individual will be empowered to build out the accounting team

Skills and Qualifications

• Professional accounting designation (CPA)
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting and or Finance
• 10+ years of experience, with a minimum of four (5) years of post-designation experience

in a director/VP level capacity for a publicly traded entity

• Strong understanding of IFRS
• Experience with Oracle accounting and enterprise reporting systems
• Experience leading teams (management and supervisory experience)
• Manufacturing experience in the semiconductor or electronics industry with advanced

understanding of cost accounting. • Significant experience in current audit practices and having worked for a major accounting firm.
