Description

• Assess patients from pediatric to geriatric age groups using both standardized tests and observational methods.
• Craft individualized treatment plans addressing immediate objectives and sustainable communication, cognitive, or swallowing enhancements.
• Deliver targeted speech therapy interventions concentrating on communication, language development, fluency, voice, and swallowing capabilities.
• Coordinate with physical and occupational therapists, nurses, doctors, caregivers, and relatives to devise cohesive patient care plans.
• Educate patients and families to promote progress beyond therapy sessions.
• Provide support during inpatient speech therapy evaluations and interventions as needed, ensuring a seamless journey through the treatment process.
• Accurately document patient information in compliance with state, federal, and organizational policies.
• Stay abreast of the latest advancements in speech-language pathology through ongoing education and peer engagement.

Education

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a recognized institution.
• Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not currently ASHA-certified.

Certifications

• State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
• Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days after starting employment.
