Description
- Assess patients from pediatric to geriatric age groups using both standardized tests and observational methods.
- Craft individualized treatment plans addressing immediate objectives and sustainable communication, cognitive, or swallowing enhancements.
- Deliver targeted speech therapy interventions concentrating on communication, language development, fluency, voice, and swallowing capabilities.
- Coordinate with physical and occupational therapists, nurses, doctors, caregivers, and relatives to devise cohesive patient care plans.
- Educate patients and families to promote progress beyond therapy sessions.
- Provide support during inpatient speech therapy evaluations and interventions as needed, ensuring a seamless journey through the treatment process.
- Accurately document patient information in compliance with state, federal, and organizational policies.
- Stay abreast of the latest advancements in speech-language pathology through ongoing education and peer engagement.
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a recognized institution.
- Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not currently ASHA-certified.
- State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
- Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days after starting employment.
- Knowledgeable in evidence-based treatments for a range of ages, with a solid grasp of both developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
- Exceptional communication skills, capable of engaging constructively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
- Flexibility to adjust therapy methods to cater to varied cultural and language backgrounds.
- Strong clinical reasoning and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in managing electronic health records and documentation standards.
