Registered Nurse

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2 years minimum in a hospital setting License: KY License/Compact required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, AWHONN required Must-Have: Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of experience in a hospital setting. Candidates must be able to circulate for cesarean sections. Candidates without these skills will not be considered for the role. Description: The unit has 7 delivery beds and 14 maternal beds, along with a Level 2 NICU and a nursery. There are a total of 58 staff members. On day shifts, we typically have 6-8 RNs, 1 OB technologist, and 1 unit clerk. On night shifts, we usually have 5-8 RNs, 1 OB technologist, and 1 unit clerk. Patient ratios in labor and delivery are 2:1; maternal beds are 6-8:1; and NICU is 1-4:1, depending on acuity. The type of equipment used includes Alaris pumps, Fetal Monitors, and fluid warmers. The electronic medical record systems used are Meditech Expanse and Centricity Perinatal. Typical procedures performed include vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, and inductions of labor. Other procedures include IV insertion, lab draws, sterile vaginal exams, assistance with epidurals, and Foley catheter placements. We are looking for team players who fit well within a collaborative environment. Every other weekend on-call duty is required, specifically Friday and Saturday nights. Scrubs are provided for infant security.
