Estates and Trusts Paralegal

Responsibilities:

• Handle all aspects of estate and probate administration.
• Opening and closing of probate, inventories, accountings, filing court petitions and preparing related documents.
• Assist with trust administration, asset valuations and distributions.
• Assist with asset management - contacting and working with financial institutions, preparing deeds, and asset summaries for taxes.
• Conduct legal research on various tax laws.
• Maintain all files electronically and serve as the main point of contact for clients, beneficiaries, financial advisors and trustees.

Qualifications:

• Paralegal Certificate from an ABA approved program
• Estates and Trusts Experience - Ideally 3 to 5 years
• Experience with tax return preparation as it relates to estates and trusts
• Tech skill and proficient with Microsoft Office and Adobe
• Strong typing skills of at least 50+ WPM
• Prior experience with electronic court filings is preferred
• Knowledge of legal terminology and state and federal procedures
• Excellent interpersonal skills, strong communication written and verbal
• Ability to multi-task and have high attention to detail and confidentiality
