Assistant Construction Manager

Job Description

Insight Global is seeking both an Assistant Construction Manager to support a growing Transmission & Distribution organization focused on delivering utility infrastructure projects throughout the Midwest. These individuals will play a critical role in managing engineering and construction efforts for transmission, distribution, and utility-related projects. The ideal candidates will bring strong experience in project controls, scheduling, cost management, client interaction, and team coordination. This opportunity offers hands-on exposure to both office and field environments while supporting major utility clients and helping expand a rapidly growing T&D project portfolio (working currently with Ameren, AEP, AES, and First Energy). Responsibilities include:

Coordinate construction project activities

Vetting scope with engineering + detailed design

Support scheduling, budgeting, and cost tracking efforts

Maintain project documentation and controls

Assist project leadership with field execution

Interface with contractors, engineers, and project stakeholders

Conduct site visits and monitor construction progress

Identify project risks and communicate updates to leadership

Projects range from 250k-250M in size and are mainly focused on 69-230kV, T-Lines and Substations

Skills and Requirements

Engineering or Construction Management degree highly preferred, can take someone with applicable YOE

3+ YOE in construction project management or project engineering

Ideal experience coming within T&D since that is a majority of the work for this program, but willing to look at other industries (commercial, industrial, government, water, etc.)
