Principal Engineer – Warhead Location: Tucson, AZ – Onsite (U.S. Citizen, U.S. Person or Immigration Status eligible for U.S. security clearance). What You Will Do Apply or develop highly advanced technologies, scientific principles, theories, and concepts to warhead integration into missile systems in development and production programs. Interface with the customer to identify user needs. Work with customers, subcontractors and suppliers to resolve engineering issues, develop new products and hold technical reviews. Conduct hydrocode simulation and lethality analysis. Support warhead design, analysis, test, and evaluation. Develop Statements of Work (SOWs), Critical Item Development Specifications (CIDS) and Technical Data Packages (TDP). Support fact-finding and contract negotiations. Ensure technical rigor and depth of all deliverables. Travel periodically to government and subcontractor facilities. Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of eight (8) years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree and five (5) years of relevant experience. Eight (8) years of experience in warhead development from conceptual design through final test/assembly. Project management experience applied to team interaction and deliverables. The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance prior to the start date; U.S. citizenship required. Preferred Qualifications Advanced degree and ten (10) or more years of directly related experience in warhead design, analysis, and development from conceptual design through final test and assembly. Demonstrated ability to develop and lead collaborative efforts with other technical disciplines including structural, thermal, and aerodynamics. Technical writing skills for detailed design requirements, test requirements, statements of work, white paper and technical presentations. Supplier collaboration experience and oversight generating specifications and statements of work (SOW). Working knowledge or experience with missile design or development, production support and integration. Experience with DoD customers and/or associated contractor executives and technical leadership. Active Secret or Top Secret Clearance (Department of Defense). Benefits Competitive salary range: $107,500 – $204,500 USD. Healthcare, dental, vision, life insurance.
