This position will be assigned to the Summit Learning Charter student population and the hybrid learning environment. The role will be conducted virtually from within Oregon, with occasional on‑site presence at the Summit Learning Charter campus in Eagle Creek, OR as needed for in‑person student support and staff collaboration. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree or higher. License from the Oregon Board of Examiners for Speech‑Language Pathology & Audiology or an educator license with a communications disorders or speech‑impairment endorsement issued by the Teacher Standards and Practices Commission (TSPC). Other acceptable alternatives to the above, as determined by the Board of Directors or the Superintendent. Services may be delivered in person and/or via Distance Learning (teletherapy). Proficiency in clear verbal and written English; bilingual skills (Spanish) preferred but not required. Flexibility to work in person on campus and/or virtually. Meet the district minimum physical, basic skill, and health standards for the position. Desired Qualifications License from the Oregon Board of Examiners for Speech‑Language Pathology & Audiology or ability to obtain one within 3 years. Certificate of clinical competence (ASHA). Previous experience as a Speech Language Pathologist in a school setting. Experience delivering speech‑language services through a virtual model. Experience in evaluation, eligibility assessments, and documentation. Experience leading and managing eligibility and Individual Education Program meetings. Essential Functions Observe, screen, and evaluate students to determine performance level and eligibility for services; prepare evaluation reports and participate in drafting IEP goals and objectives. Diagnose students with articulation, voice, fluency, and/or language delays and disorders using standardized, norm‑referenced test instruments, and determine type and severity of the disorder. Develop speech and language service plans, including setting goals, objectives, methods, materials, frequency, duration, and modifications for the virtual online education program. Provide group therapy and instruction, analyze and review student progress, and communicate with teachers and parents. Design, implement, and develop activities and original instructional aids that enhance teaching effectiveness and address service plans, determining the appropriate number, scheduling activities, and creating group and individual behavior plans. Develop, select, and implement direct, indirect, and consultative services based on assessment results and planning intervention goals. Plan, develop, and complete Individualized Education Plans according to school, district, and state guidelines and policies. Determine when students receive direct instruction services versus related and consultative services. Maintain and communicate student schedules to students, teachers, administration, and parents/guardians. Ensure each student’s files are up to date and available. Regularly create and share progress reports to students, teachers, administration, and parents as required by IEP. Complete required reports for local, state, federal, and educational agencies. Refer students who require further evaluation or follow‑up services to appropriate personnel or community agencies. Participate in collaborative planning and inclusive practices with teaching colleagues. Prepare documentation, such as evaluations, observations, and communication with parents, teachers, and professionals, for written support and recommendations, tracking instruction in the virtual setting. Strive to send draft IEPs home 10 days before meetings and finalize them 10 days after the meeting. Comply with all district procedures, timelines, directives, and rules relating to the assignment. Draft eligibility supporting documents, prior written notices, progress notes, and other compliant IEP‑related documents within required timelines. Perform related duties as assigned. Additional Duties Attend Estacada and Summit staff training, required meetings, committees, and professional development opportunities as assigned. New Student Enrollment: review SPED records, support missing documents, complete move‑in letters, and coordinate scheduling for new student IEP/amendment meetings. Work as part of an energetic building and departmental team to create a vibrant learning community for students receiving special education services. Salary, Benefits, Contract Salary: $61,130 – $106,521 per year (dependent on verified experience and education). Up to 193 contract days at 1.0 FTE (40 hrs/week, generally 8 am-4 pm). Professional development days. Employee-paid PERS. One‑year probationary contract, renewable by March 15th. Stipend for ASHA/National Board certification.
