Senior Technical Writer (Contract)

Title: Sr. Technical Writer (Contract) Department: Process Innovation Center Location: Houston, TX (Hybrid; remote potential) Supervisor: Director of Process Innovation Employment Type: Contract (Approximately 6 months) Summary The Sr. Technical Writer will author, manage, and maintain clear, accurate, and compliant technical documentation for EPC Renewable projects. The role ensures complex engineering, construction, and operational information is organized into accessible content for internal teams, clients, and stakeholders. Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities Technical Document Writing Author, review, edit, and maintain high‑quality technical documentation for EPC projects, including policies, procedures, and work instructions, ensuring consistency and clarity. Maintain consistency in style, terminology, formatting, and document structure across all project deliverables. Support audits and compliance activities by preparing, organizing, and updating required technical documents. Technical Team Coordination Work directly with engineering, project, construction, quality, proposal, and procurement teams to gather technical information and ensure complex concepts and processes are accurately documented. Manage version control, coordinate multidisciplinary review, and oversee updates throughout the project life cycle. Innovation & Continuous Improvement Utilize document management systems and authoring tools (MS Office, Adobe, SharePoint) to track, store, and publish documentation. Contribute to the continuous improvement of documentation processes, templates, and standards within the organization. Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and operational excellence across teams. Regular attendance in accordance with company policy is an essential duty. Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by management. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration or a related technical field. Minimum 3 years of progressive experience in EPC or EPC Renewable projects. Experience translating complex technical information into concise, applicable documentation for production teams. Advanced writing, editing, and proofreading skills with attention to technical accuracy and clarity. Familiarity with documentation standards, regulatory compliance, and multidisciplinary project coordination. Strong attention to detail and organization skills. Ability to navigate complex, matrixed organizations and influence at various levels. Sight: frequent use of sight to detect images on computer, office documents, and office objects near and far. Climb: occasionally ascend or descend stairs. Travel: up to 10% of the time as needed. Work Environment Office business setting. Noise level ranges from low to moderate in office; moderate to high on construction worksite. Role may transition to onsite or hybrid arrangement under policy.
