Job Overview A law firm seeks a talented associate with 4-7 years of experience to join their Technology Licensing, Data Privacy, and Security team in Washington, DC. The position offers a hybrid work arrangement. Duties Advise clients on compliance with data privacy and cybersecurity laws and AI governance frameworks. Counsel clients on data asset management and privacy program development. Draft, review, and negotiate technology and commercial agreements. Draft and review data protection agreements and IP provisions in corporate agreements. Advise on IP ownership, protection, and licensing strategies. Lead and support incident response efforts, including breach investigation and reporting. Advise on AI governance and associated legal risks. Conduct privacy impact assessments and risk analyses. Monitor legislative developments and advise on emerging obligations. Assist with regulatory inquiries and enforcement actions. Collaborate with colleagues to deliver integrated solutions. Contribute to client-facing thought leadership. Requirements J.D. from an accredited law school. 4-7 years of experience in data privacy, cybersecurity, or technology transactions. Experience drafting and negotiating technology-related agreements. Strong drafting, analytical, and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple client matters independently and collaboratively. Education J.D. from an accredited law school. Certifications CIPP/US, CIPP/E, CIPM, CIPT, or AIGP preferred. Skills Strong drafting and negotiation skills. Analytical and communication proficiency.
