About the Role
The Company is seeking an Assistant General Counsel to join its Office of Labor Relations. The successful candidate will be part of a legal team that provides support and advice on a wide range of issues, with a focus on labor relations, compliance, and employee benefits. Key responsibilities for the role include representing the company in administrative proceedings, such as arbitrations and improper practice claims, researching and drafting legal documents, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. The role also involves handling day-to-day legal matters, including FOIL, MOUs, and legislative review, and requires the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Applicants for the Assistant General Counsel position should have a Juris Doctor degree from an ABA-approved law school and be a member of the New York State Bar. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, detail-oriented, and possess the ability to work well with a variety of personalities and entities. A strong interest in the company's portfolio, particularly in the areas of labor relations, compliance, and employee benefits, is essential.
