Respond to calls and complaints involving traffic accidents, robberies, felonies, misdemeanors, disturbances, civil and domestic situations; take necessary police action, serve warrants, make arrests as required, and testify as witness in court. Conduct preliminary investigations at the scenes of crimes and accidents; gather evidence; locate and question suspects and witnesses; make arrests as required and testify as witness in court. Prepare reports on cases and complaints. Transport and process prisoners to court and jail. Establish traffic control and protection at incidents attracting crowds; perform police duties at special events such as parades, festivals, sporting events. Perform daily routine maintenance and safety inspections on patrol cars. Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisor. Qualifications Completion of the Michigan Commission on Law Enforcement Standards (MCOLES) Police Certification Program, or eligibility for certification. Valid Michigan Driver's License. U.S. citizenship. Strong interpersonal skills to interact with the public courteously, professionally, and tactfully. Ability to quickly and objectively analyze situations and determine appropriate actions. Ability to accurately gather information and clearly communicate observations, behaviors, and actions orally and in writing. Proficiency in the use and care of firearms. #J-18808-Ljbffr
