Mammography Technologist

Perform mammography tests and develop the results to produce quality breast images for radiologists. Evaluate patient history and physician orders to ensure appropriate procedures are performed. Assist physicians in special procedures as needed to ensure that all procedures are performed to established standards. Access and handle selected medications. Process Quality Control checks on systems in accordance with professional guidelines. Notify supervisor of maintenance needs to ensure proper equipment function. Maintain proper documentation on the Radiology Information System to track procedures performed on patients. Communicate and consult with patients to inform them of procedures and ensure comfort. Maintain a positive working relationship with employees and medical staff to ensure efficient work processes. Provide training and supervision to radiologic students rotating through the mammography area. Identify ways to improve work processes and customer satisfaction. Make recommendations to supervisors and implement changes to support organizational goals. Maintain knowledge of applicable rules, regulations, policies, and guidelines impacting the Mammography area. Develop internal controls that promote adherence to laws and accreditation agency requirements. Stay updated on developments and trends in the field of Mammography through continuous education. Integrate knowledge gained into current work practices. Participate in departmental Performance Improvement Programs and attend relevant meetings. Develop and monitor annual goals and objectives set forth by Radiology Administration. Perform other duties as assigned.
