Nursing Supervisor Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Nursing Supervisor to lead our care team of PCAs and CNAs in providing high-quality in-home care services. The ideal candidate will possess a strong clinical background, exceptional leadership skills, and a commitment to fostering a supportive environment for both staff and patients. This role requires expertise in various nursing practices and the ability to manage a diverse team effectively.

Duties

Supervise nursing staff, ensuring adherence to best practices and compliance with healthcare regulations.

Oversee patient assessments, medication administration, and treatment plans.

Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement care strategies for patients with complex needs.

Conduct regular evaluations of staff performance, providing mentorship and guidance to promote professional development.

Ensure accurate medical documentation and maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations.

Experience Candidates should possess the following experience:

Medical office experience in acute care settings or long-term care facilities such as nursing homes or assisted living environments.

Familiarity with specialized areas such as dialysis, pediatrics (PICU), geriatrics, behavioral health, or emergency medicine.

Proficiency in utilizing electronic health record (EHR) systems

Experience in supervising nursing staff and managing teams effectively.

Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, patient assessment techniques, and infection control practices.

Familiarity with case management processes, discharge planning, and utilization review.
