Electrical Design Engineer

Location: Oklahoma City, OK
Job Type: Full-Time
Compensation: $90,000-$120,000 DOE
Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to develop, model, and document electrical systems using 3D CAD software. This role is responsible for creating detailed electrical layouts, power distribution designs, control systems, cable routing, and construction documentation while ensuring compliance with industry standards and project requirements.
Key Responsibilities

Develop 3D electrical models for industrial, commercial, manufacturing, and infrastructure projects.
Create electrical equipment layouts, cable tray routing, conduit systems, and wiring diagrams.
Design electrical panels, control systems, and power distribution systems.
Prepare detailed engineering drawings, schematics, and construction documents.
Perform electrical load calculations and equipment sizing.
Coordinate with mechanical, structural, and process engineering teams to resolve design conflicts.
Review and revise drawings throughout the project lifecycle.
Ensure designs comply with NEC, IEEE, NFPA, IEC, and applicable local codes.
Participate in design reviews, project planning, and technical meetings.
Provide engineering support during construction, installation, and commissioning.
Maintain engineering documentation, revisions, and project records.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
3+ years of experience in electrical design engineering.
Experience creating construction drawings and engineering documentation.
Proficiency with one or more of the following:
- AutoCAD 3D
- Revit MEP
- SolidWorks Electrical
- EPLAN
- Bentley OpenBuildings/OpenPlant
- AVEVA E3D
- SmartPlant 3D
Strong knowledge of electrical systems, power distribution, and control systems.
Familiarity with NEC, IEEE, NFPA, IEC, and other applicable electrical codes.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.

Preferred Qualifications

Professional Engineer (PE) license or Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification.
Experience in industrial, manufacturing, oil & gas, data center, or infrastructure projects.
Knowledge of BIM (Building Information Modeling) workflows.
Experience with clash detection and multidisciplinary coordination.
