Internal Medicine practice seeking an experienced Medical Assistant capable of multi-tasking and providing compassionate patient care and performing administrative duties. Must be able to perform in a busy environment, able to prioritize and re-prioritize as day progresses. Ideal candidate should be reliable, enthusiastic, experienced in electronic medical records a plus, basic insurance and authorizations knowledge, detail oriented and be able to work in a team environment. Medical billing experience is preferred.

Responsibilities:

· Rooms patients, accurately collect and records patients’ vital statistics, allergies, medications and concerns.

· Prepares exam rooms, stocks and maintains supplies and equipment, keeping the rooms neat and clean.

· Performing EKGs, basic wound care, and administration of vaccinations.

· Effectively assists with prescriptions and authorizing drug refill requests.

· Triage messages, routes and relays information to staff, providers, and patients in a timely manner.

· Effectively performs other duties as assigned.

· This position may require the M.A. to travel to other clinical sites upon request.

Minimum Requirements:

· Medical Assistant Certificate, Basic Life Support/CPR certification

· 2 Years back office medical assistant experience.

· Ability to work Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM, 6 hours per day.

· Good attendance/punctuality.

· Strong computer skills.

· Bilingual a plus.
