Scientific Director, Medical Affairs - Parkinson's Disease

AbbVie seeks a Scientific Director for Medical Affairs to lead medical strategy and execution for Parkinson's Disease assets in the Neuroscience portfolio. The role involves collaborating with commercial and clinical teams to support product launches, develop clinical evidence, and manage medical education initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Lead and execute Medical Affairs initiatives for Parkinson's Disease asset launch strategy and tactics
• Develop and oversee medical education, advisory board, and engagement plans aligned with therapeutic area strategy
• Generate clinical and scientific data to address evidence gaps and support therapeutic benefit
• Review and approve promotional and advertising materials for regulatory compliance
• Manage budgets and coordinate internal training activities across functional teams

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in sciences; PhD, PharmD, PA or NP preferred
• 5–7+ years pharmaceutical industry experience with therapeutic area expertise
• Knowledge of clinical trial methodology and regulatory requirements
• Excellent oral and written communication skills for internal and external stakeholder engagement
• Ability to coordinate scientific and medical activities across cross-functional teams
• Experience in medical review of promotional materials and regulatory compliance
