This includes: + Obtaining a relevant medical and psychiatric history. + Formulating an appropriate differential diagnosis based on the history and clinical findings. + Developing an appropriate plan of care and a follow up plan of care.* Provide psychopharmacologic interventions to treat symptoms of a full range of psychiatric illnesses based on current best practices and accepted standards of clinical management.* Serves as a resource and provides consultation to clinicians the SHC and CAPS.* Follow current best practices in psychopharmacologic management and develop an individualized treatment approach based on symptoms, preferences, culture, lifestyle, co-morbidities, risks, and benefits of the plan for the student.* Maintains appropriate documentation for all services in our electronic medical records system.* Build and maintain collaborative working relationships.* Stays current with advances in psychiatry through appropriate continuing education as required for licensure.* Participate in SHC Quality Assurance activities, provider meetings, case conferences and peer review.* Maintains currency of licensure, certification, and continuing education.* To be able to perform the above job description and functions and other duties as assigned by the Medical Director under minimal supervision.**Work Hours*** Clinic Hours + Academic Year: Monday – Wednesday 9am – 5pm and Thursday – Friday, 8:30am – 5pm + Summer: Monday through Friday 8:30am – 4:30pm, closed in July* Work days/hours for PT position negotiated at hire.**Required Skills*** Ability to collaborate effectively in a team setting.* Excellent communication skills.* Must have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work with diverse populations and be able to demonstrate commitment to issues around diversity and social justice.* Positive, flexible, and solution focused attitude.* Ability to quickly synthesize medical and psychiatric data and formulate effective and evidence based clinical recommendations.* Able to work independently and effectively multitask.* Promotes positive patient relations maintaining confidentiality, privacy, and dignity.**Education, Experience & Certification Requirements*** Master or DNP degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program and licensed as an ARNP with prescriptive authority in Washington state and DEA licensure.* Minimum 2 years’ experience providing professional clinical services, preferably in an outpatient setting and/or in a university health center.* Experience working with primary care providers.* This position requires a background check of criminal history.**Preferred*** Experience with primary care psychiatry or consultation psychiatry.* A demonstrated interest in providing direct service to a diverse college population.**Physical requirements*** Occasionally lift, push, pull and/or move up to 20 pounds.* Repetitive motion of upper body required for extended use of computers.* Required specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.**Application Instructions**Please attach a cover letter with your resume when applying.
