Contract | Days | Mixed 8- and 12-hour shifts

Key Responsibilities

• Provide Phase 1 and Phase 2 post-anesthesia recovery care in a 15-bed PACU unit
• Recover a mixed surgical patient population including pediatric patients and patients with disabilities, maintaining a 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio (1:1 for pediatric or higher-acuity patients)
• Recover ICU-level patients, including those on ventilators, pressors, and blood products
• Second-phase patients directly out of the OR as needed
• Read and interpret cardiac monitor strips
• Transport patients and participate in on-call responsibilities, including weeknight, weekend, and holiday call as scheduled

Required Qualifications

• Active RN licensure
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
• Ability to recover pediatric patients
• Experience managing vented patients and those requiring hemodynamic support
• Proficiency with EPIC EMR
• Ability to respond to on-call assignments within 30 minutes

Preferred Experience / Skills

• 3 or more years of PACU experience
• Experience with a broad range of OR cases across surgical specialties (excluding transplant)
• Experience caring for patients with disabilities with sensitivity and individualized attention
