Position Overview The Terminal Development and Improvement Program (TDIP) Construction Manager will manage the scope, cost, schedule, and operational interfaces of all design and construction activities for the program, ensuring schedule certainty, budget delivery, and quality while enforcing a strong health, safety, and environmental culture. Responsibilities Monitor all on‑site field construction activities and apply comprehensive knowledge of various disciplines to ensure compliance with approved work plans and Area Shutdown Requests. Ensure construction operations follow approved work plans, maintain the latest versions of plans and specifications, including approved changes, submittals, and RFIs. Work with Construction Contractor and stakeholders to develop overall planning of construction activities, identify critical milestones, and prioritize tasks. Monitor budget estimates, staffing requirements, and the assignment of manpower, materials, and equipment to maximize efficiency and meet budget goals. Take preventative action to keep critical milestones on track and adopt safe construction practices to achieve required quality control at maximum efficiency and minimum cost. Prepare periodic reports summarizing progress of construction activities for higher‑level management and clients. Implement all policies and procedures, including project labor agreement policies, and contribute to the advancement of TDG’s goals through collaboration with stakeholders. Participate in coordination meetings with Construction Contractor, trade partners, stakeholders, LAWA Operations, and other parties. Review contractor potential change order claims for merit and negotiate final resolution. Professional Licenses and Certifications Optional: AAAE, LEED, PMP, PE, AICP, or other relevant professional licensure or certification. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (Master’s degree preferred). 10+ years of Construction Management experience, preferably on airport projects, including projects over $100 million in value. Experience with various delivery methods: Design‑Bid‑Build, Design+CMAR, Design/Build. Strong written and oral communication skills and thorough knowledge of industry practices, regulations, and construction contracting practices. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Bluebeam, and Project Management Information Systems such as PM Web. Additional Information Position is a salaried, Monday‑Friday full‑time role based on 40 hours per week at the applicable all‑in labor rate. Consultants must have a company‑provided laptop and a company‑provided cell phone; a desktop computer will be provided by LAWA. This is not a work‑from‑home position; the role requires presence either in the office or on the LAX project site. After‑hours or weekend work may be required and is considered part of the salary.
