Billing Analyst

Overview Location: Alexandria, VA (Hybrid – 3 days onsite) Assignment Type: Temp-to-Permanent Compensation: $35–$40/hour / $70,000-85,000 upon conversion Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM Benefits: This position is eligible for Medical, Dental, Vision, and 401(k). Key Responsibilities Prepare and process government contract invoices in accordance with contract terms and applicable regulations. Maintain accounts receivable records and monitor outstanding balances. Perform general ledger reconciliations and investigate outstanding items. Prepare monthly journal entries with supporting documentation. Reconcile billing system data to the general ledger and financial reporting systems. Partner with internal teams to resolve billing discrepancies and contract-related issues. Support month-end close activities related to billing and receivables. Assist with financial audits by preparing schedules, documentation, and supporting analyses. Maintain accurate billing records and ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies. Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance billing accuracy and operational efficiency. Respond to internal and external inquiries regarding invoices, receivables, and contract billing. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred. Minimum of 3 years of accounting, finance, or government contracting experience. Government contract billing experience is required. Deltek Costpoint experience is required. Strong understanding of accounts receivable, general ledger reconciliations, and financial reporting. Working knowledge of U.S. GAAP. Cost accounting experience is preferred. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office. Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
