Job Summary A Dishwasher is responsible for cleaning dishes in a food service environment to ensure that the kitchen has a steady supply of clean plates, bowls, silverware, pots, pans, and glasses. Their duties include prioritizing loads of different types of crockery and kitchenware, hand-washing dishes, loading the dishwasher and placing dishes to dry. Responsibilities Collect used kitchenware from dining and kitchen areas Load and unload dishwashing machines Wash specific items by hand (e.g. wooden cutting boards, large pots and delicate china) Store clean dishes, glasses, and equipment appropriately Qualifications Must be 16 years old and meet any other state age or labor requirements. No one under the age of 18 may operate, clean, adjust or touch a slicer a mixer. Essential Functions Sort, scrape, wash dishware, flatware, and kitchen cooking utensils in a timely manner. Maintain stock of clean dishes and flatware for dining room and cook ‘s line. Exhibit integrity in all actions by meeting company standards in appearance, grooming, security, and sanitation. Always shows up in a clean apron, clean shirt, clean pants, and non- slip shoes. Wash, rinse and sanitize pots and pans. Dispose of trash into outside dumpster and clean trash cans. Complete opening and/or closing duties. Maintain a safe and clean working area. Assist management with receiving and storing food items and supplies. Maintain exterior building including cleaning sidewalks, landscaping, and parking lots. Demonstrate respect for all individuals by cleaning and stocking bus service areas and guest restrooms consistently. Enthusiastically acknowledge guest with the company’s five-foot rule. Perform all other duties as assigned. Certifications or Licenses Not required. Skills and Knowledge To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies: Must be able to follow dish machine instructions and operations safely. Must be able to use a computer for timekeeping purposes. Uses sound judgement in a day-to-day decision by applying the company’s vision, values and culture. Education and Experience Successful completion of required training materials, including watching videos and completing workbooks.
